Rock ‘n’ Roll Musician Report

As part of your music class grade, you will required to write a report on a famous rock ‘n’ roll musician or group that you feel has made a significant impact in music.

This report can be presented in a number of ways:

- As a podcast
- As a written report in paragraph form
- As a powerpoint presentation
- As a poster containing all of the important information

  • The report can be on any music group that is currently making music, or it can be on a group from the past.
  • This report will be worth 10 points of your final grade.
  • You may NOT work in groups. This is an individual project.
  • You will present your report to the class.
  • Only one person can do a report on a musician per class (2 or more people cannot do a report on the Backstreet Boys).
  • You will choose who would like to do a report on (have at least 3 choices) by a lottery in class.
  • The report is due on Friday, February 16, 2007.
  • If you have a recording of the group, it should be played during your presentation.
  • The report should cover the following topics:

1. Where and when the person was born?
2. When did they learn about music?
3. Who are their influences?
4. What instrument do they play?
5. Who are their favorite bands?
6. What are some of their hit songs?
7. Why do you like their music?
8. What is your favorite song?
9. Who is your favorite member of the band (if applicable) and why?
10. What influence have they had on music?

Some newer groups will be harder to collect information on than some older groups, like the Beatles. Choose a group or musician that you know a lot about, or that has a lot of information written about them. You do not need to write a bibliography. Good Luck!
